Pretty Song
The city lights
The city view
From the hilltop here I think of you
Through the morning air
And through the morning breeze
Your song on the radio it makes me freeze
Such a pretty song
Such a pretty, pretty song
Such a pretty, pretty song when sung together
Why can’t we get together and sing it to the world
Up and down, from coast to coast
A million others recognizing they’re so close
To missing what they love most
A special friendship, extraordinaire
They’re seeking asylum in the subtle message there
You can watch them stop and stare at
Such a pretty song
Such a pretty, pretty song
Such a pretty, pretty song when sung together
How about we get together and sing it to the world
A song about your freedom
A song about doing it right
Like caring for each other
And hugging through the night
Not letting go and holding tight
A song about redemption
Compassion for your fellow man
When daybreak brings you flowers
Flowers from your loved one’s hands
To forgive is to understand
Such a pretty song
Such a pretty, pretty song
Such a pretty, pretty song can be sung together
So let’s get together now and sing it to the world

Rest
Rest my beautiful child
Close your eyes, imagine sleeping
Sink into your soul
Soft and warm, let dreams unfold
Tomorrow, the daybreak will welcome you
Your sorrows will be gone when the night is through
Rest your tender heart
Drift away curled into my arms
Glide over valleys green
Over mountains high, I will hold you endlessly
Tomorrow, the daybreak will welcome you
Your sorrows will be gone when the night is through

Goodbye Venus
Hey now girl I know what you mean to say
That you want the freedom you want to go away
So here I stand with my bleeding heart so red
You’ve found your passion to somewhere else you’ve been led
Round the world
Toward the sky
Past the stars
You would fly
What’s the use of staying here when you’re done?
She says she’s in love but I’m not the one
She told me so
So it’s goodbye Venus she’s gone to sail the seas
But she still makes me trip just like I’m on LSD
And even now she flashes back
Together we were on a track
To nowhere fast is what she said
I’m gone while you’re stuck in your ways
It’s time for a change everyday
She told me so
What’s the use of staying here when you’re done?
She says she’s in love but I’m not the one
She told me so

Break That Chain
She’s done all she could to break the shackles
But she knows there’s a reason to hope as the fire crackles
She says Hey Mister can’t you spare a bill
As the traffic light just doesn’t change she stands there
still
Life can be fine riding that line
Between knowing too much and too little
It’s built in that you care but only when you’re aware
With one look she poses a riddle
What can we do
To break that chain
Two brothers of the world are conflicted by their pain
He said that he said that he said that he is to blame
They only know what their fathers told them once
That the other side is a ruthless, kindless bunch
But did they ever hear that in everyone
There’s a shimmer of light that shows
Like an ember bound to its destiny
The warmest energy that glows
Where you know
We break that chain
And a chain can be awfully hard to break
But the fire of love can melt and reshape
You forgive and redeem and move on
If we could just all break the way
We cling to the right and wrong
And spread the word like a holy bird
That together we all belong
Then you know
We break that chain
And a chain can be awfully hard to break
But the fire of love can melt and reshape
You forgive and redeem and move on

My Taylor Weeps
She knew right away that she needed to fly
No you couldn’t hold her back she’d be living a lie if she
stayed for you
Hugging good-bye the one you’d never forget
So much of her in you as she boarded that jet to a world so
new . . . yet still
Like a river she rides swiftly curling down around you
Her golden lockets springing lightly across your skin
And like a storm she took you under now your tears are
turning
Aching for the days when she would nightly let you in
She came to you with her pretty voice and innocent love
songs
She rocks the Earth and you know she’s gonna be a star
And you can’t complain as she explodes like a supernova
Shining brighter than the diamonds on her guitar
And now . . . can’t you hear . . . she speaks for you
To the world . . . without fear . . . she weeps for you
As the crowd cries through the darkness a million candles
calling
For their princess to appear in glitter she begins
That life’s a jewel and we are strong and underneath all
naked
Then like a mistress she politely lets them in
She comes to you with her pretty voice and innocent love
songs
She rocks the Earth and you know she’s gonna be a star
And you can’t complain as she explodes like a supernova
Shedding bits of herself like the diamonds on her guitar
She sings: Hey ain’t that you looking past your mirror now
I know it’s simple but its true, if you keep moving you’ll
go far
You’ve got a thermonuclear core
So could it be ever clearer
That all you gotta do is shine, shine and there you are

Alone
From my limousine
I’m wondering about the scene
In that car ahead of me
A couple yells and screams
I see it every day
There’s a handsome price we pay
Puttin’ up and puttin’ out
But I know there’s a better way
When I’m alone
I like to be alone
Sitting on my throne
A meditation zone
No talking on the phone
With another clone
Who would only moan
If they found that I was
Hiding here alone
Stiller than a stone
Happy not to be known . . . or famous
I’ve traveled round the world
And I’ve seen what love can do
It’s a self-interested venture
Though they won’t admit that’s true
Mingling is fine
A sleep here and there divine
But closing the door on my penthouse floor
Is where I’m most inclined

Star Struck Girl
There’s a feeling stuck inside my head
It bounces round and round she said
I can’t explain. Somehow you’ll have to trust me
Like a memory hanging by a thread
Now nothing more than a shade of red
I sense that you and I together must be
As old as the galaxy churning
Like the Moon we’re forever returning
My star struck girl
Under the blankets and the night time sphere
Which stretches on from where we peer
She holds my hand and shows me constellations
The meaning of it all is clear
We’re just a speck so hold me dear
She kisses me at once no hesitation
And she sings, oh, I can’t wait for tomorrow
When the Sun eclipses all sorrow
My star struck girl
She often tries to tell me
Open your heart and open your mind
Without fear you will find your passion
Blossoming now in the seat of your soul
Shades of red they streak the sky
I’m awoken by the calling cry
Of the ocean from the dunes the daybreak glistens
Snug beside me is that girl
Who sees the wisdom of the world
And for good advice she’ll say don’t talk, just listen
And for now it’s good-bye to sorrow
I’ve found a love who’ll take care of tomorrow
My star struck girl

Chasing Sirens
I’m not the king of romancing
But I’ve got this way of slow dancing
Around the edges
I could do without the confusion
So please excuse this intrusion
Or I’ll always wonder
What I meant to you on those nights we cuddled and cried
How does it feel to be running away in your golden shoes?
When I’m like Mercury at your heels
I’ll catch you on the curve, with the wind you will lose.
I’ll shout down any divinity
To meet you beyond infinity
Where like a bug
I’ll see right through you
Shine a light
I’ll crawl right to you
I took a course in life’s lessons
I suffered therapeutic sessions,
As to why you lingered
I’ll smile at you when you wake up
Cause I can’t afford to break up
Or I’m six foot under
Where forevermore my memory would cry
How does it feel, to be running away in your golden shoes?
When I’m like Mercury at your heels
I’ll catch you on the curve, with the wind you will lose
I’m racing a train slipping down that track
On a leap of faith you’re calling back
Cause you’re the princess
And I’m the hero
I steal a kiss
On the count of zero
Please take my gift
It’s a ball of emotion
A tender tear
That drips from an ocean

Joy of Acceptance
Every day that I rise
It’s a joy to open my eyes to you as my friend
In a world upside down
I could climb me the highest mountain when you’re around
So here I stand taking in the view
Where the air is clear and every breath is new
With your love I’m breaking through
Like the stars in a crimson sky
It’s been a long, long time
It’s been a long, long time
It’s been a long, long time since I noticed you and what
you mean to me
And the joy of acceptance
I try to pretend, and uh, uh, uh
You see through me then
I crawl out on a limb, and uh, uh, uh
You pull me back again
And when everything seems to be falling apart
You feel the confidence to see each end as a start
We have the freedom of a drop within the ocean where we’re
not alone
It’s been a long, long time
It’s been a long, long time
It’s been a long, long time since I noticed you and what
you mean to me
And every once in a while
You turn to me with your smile
And everything is alright we can make it
There’s the thrill of letting go
As a friend you’ve taught me to know
The joy of acceptance

Open Road
All I need is a plot of land
I’ll build my own castle
With my own two hands
A loving wife
And a beautiful child
A steady job, and I’m living in style
All I need is the universe
I gotta understand, I gotta get there first
Social freedom,
Planetary care
These are the things I think that we should all share
In times of plenty I’ll carry us
forward
When times are tough, I’ll buckle us down
I’m so glad we see that we need each other around
And I’m not afraid to say it’s God’s creation
And I’m not afraid to say I just don’t know
Either way life is a celebration that rolls
Down this open road
When I first saw you
What a beautiful sight
You thought you knew me
You were more than polite
And I’ve learned from you
What it means to be free
And I must admit
There’s a little bit of you here in me
In times of plenty I’ll carry us forward
When times are tough, I’ll buckle us down
I’m so glad we see that we need each other around
And I do believe we’ve reached our destination
And I still believe we have a long way to go
Either way life is a celebration that rolls
Down this open road

Take Me Away
A holiday in St. Tropez
Scuba diving Maho Bay
Just to peek upon the Pyramids
Learning Spanish living in Madrid
The total eclipsing of the Sun
Riding the waves of Kailua Beach for fun
First class tickets to the land down under
Around the world to all its wonders
And it just goes on and on
Lord, it just goes on and on
A luxurious yacht off the coast of Brazil
An island villa at the top of the hill
A jungle safari if you dare
Living the life of a billionaire
While here on Earth with you
There so much I’d like to do
Away. . . Take me away. Away . . . Take me away
The alarm goes off at 6 A.M.
Time to get the kids off to school again
Your dreams, your hopes, and all your wishes
Replaced for now by a pile of dishes
Returning home from a 9 to 5
After dinner, the bills, you feel barely alive
Though you’re thankful for all the weight you carry
You’d welcome a break from the ordinary
Because it just goes on and on
Lord, it just goes on and on
So grab your love and dance all night
Spend your riches like a socialite
Find your passion on the green sand shores
Then sail away to the blue Azores
Under the stars . . . across the Atlantic . . . with the
breeze
While here on Earth with you
There so much I’d like to do
Away. . . Take me away. Away . . . Take me away

Existentialistic Blues
A point in space is only defined by all the other
surrounding points in space
If you were to remove all those other points you’d find
your point in space is gone.
So what’s the point? It’s that your ego is only defined by
the environment in which it was raised.
If you were to remove that lovely environment your ego,
well, it would not be there
And everyday, you’ve got a movie running through your head
And when you get bored, you can run the movie backwards
instead
And re-live your whole life before your whole life is dead
So cheer up my dear comrade, don’t worry if you get
confused
It’s just another case of the existentialistic blues
With nothing to gain, you’ve got nothing to lose.
If you were to perform an unethical experiment of raising a
baby in the vacuum of space
You would have to remove the body of the baby because the
body makes it not a vacuum of space.
But imagine all you had was the baby’s brain with no eyes,
no ears, no mouth, no skin and surely no nose.
With no memory of the past, no notion of the future just an
enlightened state of peaceful bliss
What would it think? Am I a boy of blue or girl of pink?
Would it be a surprise, if it got hit by the Enterprise?
Stars upon wonder why am I wondering why?
So cheer up my dear comrade, don’t worry if you get
confused
It’s just another case of the existentialistic blues
With nothing to gain, you’ve got nothing to lose.
