Glitter
I
want the world for you to be less insane
10,000 years from now when all that remains
Is the sun above over a splash of green
By the twitch of a lonely soul
Where our passions await in this eternal flame
Through the stars we will always shine
So where do we go from here my love
Look with me and I will meet you at each moment
Forever with you I will be
I’m free falling for you
Forever with you is all I need
When you awoke you saw that I was still there
From a world of mist
Through a patch of blue
We escaped to the edge of the unknown
And I know my heart would break
I wouldn’t last much longer
I feel the earth begin to shake
Could we be much stronger
You and I together in a swirl of shining suns
Here we lie
Just glitter in a galaxy of dust
You and I together in a swirl of shining suns
Here we lie
Just glitter in a galaxy of dust

Closer
If only there were time could we ever understand
Could there be a life beyond what we’re living?
If you could take apart the universe and hold her in your
hands
Would you cherish every moment she was giving?
And I’m feeling closer every day
Tear yourself from who you are and open up your soul
To the many paths that surely soon will follow
If you can touch the groundless ground, you can breathe an
empty sky
You can trace a hopeful look within your shadow
And I’m feeling closer every day
Downtown with my head in the clouds
I want to fall in love, I want to give in to ecstasy
How do we know that what we hear and what we say is the
truth
What keeps the lion from the lamb?
How in the world do we face the right direction unsure
of who we are and where we stand
Downtown with my head in the clouds
Where the living is smooth I’m just waiting for miracles
Downtown where my ego is proud
Consuming bliss in the malls of America
It’s nothing really magical, no paradox sublime
It’s much more simple than we ever could imagine
That when you trust in no one but yourself you will never
cease to shine
From your heart will arise all compassion
And I see it closer every day
And I see it closer every day

On
Your Own
Was
it all just a dream
A shining knight in armor
Did he make you his queen
Did he rescue your heart
You thought he would change
But the change it grew darker
Yet there you remain
With your engine in park
There’s
a strange way in which life repeats itself
There’s a baby strapped into the backseat
If it weren’t for a fatherless childhood
He’d be fine
Why don’t you live in a place on your own?
Why do you cry every night by the phone?
Don’t you see
Your freedom is never free
Your mind is already miles away
Deanna, Deanna where are you?
Storms come and go
We escape if we’re able
Sometimes we survive
Sometimes we fall through the cracks
Show
me the money as I work myself stiff
Is there no choice but to love it or to leave it
If you nurture the atmosphere of hope my friend
What might you find?
Why don’t you live in a place on your own
Pack up your bags, leave no trace, find a home
Where you can be
So secure with a family
Is it in you to run away
Deanna, Deanna where are you?
Ohh,
You won’t believe, the sky through the trees on a clear day
Ohh, the morning sun will rise, with a reflection in your
eyes
To show you the way
So
why don’t you live in a place on your own
Breath in fresh air, read a book, write a poem
About the times
You refused to see the signs
Of a young heart dying for love
Deanna, Deanna, Deanna where are you?

Butterfly
Angel
Crystal
clear in my imagination
Is the time and space where I last saw you
Spreading wings, perched upon higher ground
With your beauty you were testing the wind
Crashing through the waves uncertain
Guided by the of fear growing
Close to nothing real
You drifted away
But the blossom of your love lingered on
By
the light of the sunrise
I knew you were here
I followed your footprints
Through the effervescent sands of long lost times
I remember the feeling
As you fluttered away
You were a butterfly angel
But I fell in love with you upon my shoulder
There was nothing I could do but search the whole world
over again
That won’t keep me from you
It won’t keep me from you
Now, I rest by the fire
In the soft glare there’s the air of hope sparkling in your
eyes
And I know where ever you are
Up above the stars are the same
And what we were will always remain
There will come the day I find your touching stone
You’re just a touching stone away
By
the light of the sunrise
I knew you were here
I followed your footprints
Through the effervescent sands of long lost times
I remember the feeling
As you fluttered away
You were a butterfly angel
But I fell in love with you upon my shoulder
There was nothing I could do but search the whole world
over again
That won’t keep me from you
It won’t keep me from you
That won’t keep me from you
It won’t keep me from you

Boxed
In
Closer
than your eyelid blinking wildly
Hidden within the empty pockets of space and time
Bathing in such warmth is God still speaking?
Evolving in the heart of every soul
The sheep have gone free
Struggling to be
On a path leading home
Slipping into the sweet green grass of summer
We tumbled around through an endless stream of the dearest
of crimes
Boxed within her hair she hovered above me
Golden were her drops of love as she cried
Doesn’t it seem
We live in a dream
Searching for home
And how do we know this rush isn’t real
While leaders they lead, the rest of us kneel
And God only knows, I’ve tried to stay true
So who’s running the show?
Lost till we find that our home is all around
Beauty before me, within me I have found
A tender glow I know with you by my side
Your love is a remarkable gift
With my face to the wind I feel the breezes of change
As our attitudes they shift

Going
Out Tonight
With
the sunshine streaming through my window this morning
I woke up remembering the day
Today my baby said she’d give me no warning
Said she’d come over here to make me play
We’re going out tonight, tonight
Yah, we’re going out tonight, it’s alright
The doorbell rings and it’s a candle light dinner
She’s got that look within her eyes
I give her a necklace and she gives me the signal
She tells me she’s got her own surprise
We’re going out tonight, tonight
What else is there tonight, hey alright
You and me, I thought we had it all
You and me, but that was right before the fall
I fell out of line when I asked her quite clearly
I asked because I simply didn’t know
Why am I the one that you love so dearly
So she packed her bag and said she had to go
She was going out tonight, tonight
With some one else tonight, well alright
You and me, I thought we had it all
You and me, but that was right before the fall

Queen
of the Nile
The
day was hot, the river steamed
The serpents hissed in tune
While mosquitoes bit the breeze
She was cool as a panther
She was a drug to kill the pain
Your time is up. It’s a shame they said
But you’re better slashed for cash
She crashes like a kamakaze
I’m on fire, I’m on fire, I’m on fire, I’m on fire
What if I were king and you were the queen of the nile
I’d do anything to see you smile
No one knows what tomorrow means
We prostitute ourselves we give away
And a deal was struck on 32nd
avenue
And as she crawled back into the jungle
She gave me eyes that made me burn
I’m on fire, I’m on fire, I’m on fire, I’m on fire
What if I were king and you were the queen of the nile
I’d do anything to see you smile
Take good care of the world it’s on your shoulder
How shall we survive if we grow older
I’m on fire, I’m on fire, I’m on fire, I’m on fire

Casa

The
day we set sail I knew
Was the day you would be mine
Alone in the blue with you
Together we would find
A place to land where the sun never sets
Where the longing for love finds its peace
Won’t you shelter me now from the cold of the wind
From the yearning I cannot release
I remember you, I remember it all
You were cuddled in a dream, by my side, I recall
The day I heard your voice, the day you whispered in my
wanting ear
This morning I rejoice, by the angels as I hold you dear
Forever, so wake up now, to all you are
You, you told me a thousand times
That this world is a crazy place
Could we forgive, couldn’t we just let go
And when we fall, we fall with grace
We’re just frozen in fear, with a light coming near
To take us away from the dark
For just a teardrop in time in the ocean we shine
By pulling the truth from our hearts
Yes, I remember you, I remember it all
You were cuddled in a dream, by my side, I recall
The day I heard your voice, the day you whispered in my
wanting ear
This morning I rejoice, by the angels as I hold you near
Forever, so wake up now, to all you are

So
High
I
didn’t think that I could
Feel this way
Never again to see beyond the gray skies
And there you were before me
A vision of light
The tender textures of your voice
They drove me through the night, ya
I’m so high I can’t breathe
On top of the world I can see clear as day
The day you gave me all your wishes
And turned my head around
I’m smothered in a sea of kisses
Sooner or later
Love is gonna getcha
(instrumental)
Would you dare me
To take your hand
Explore the possibility
That I could understand you
No matter that you’re feeling down
No matter what you do
Remember that up above those darkening clouds
The sky is always true blue
I’m so high I can’t breathe
On top of the world I can see clear as day
The day you gave me all your wishes
And turned my head around
And smothered me in all your kisses
Sooner or later
Love is gonna getcha, mm mm mm (I said)
Sooner or later
Love is gonna getcha
I’m so high I can’t breathe
I’m so high I can’t breathe

Two
Way Street
Walking
along, alone, with you
I don’t know what to say or do
We’ve come this far
Through the seasons of time
Was my love not enough
Was there more to my crime
All I want is to save the world and win the Nobel Prize
Climb the highest mountain, invent the first warp drive
She
gives me the glare
Well at least it’s a start
I know that I care
Cause its breaking my heart
They say love is a two way street
It’s more than just a wedding ring
Love is a two way street
You gotta give everything
They say love is a two way street
(instr)
I want you to know, she says
I need ya to see
I got my own dreams
Ya, I gotta be free
My faith isn’t gone
My faith isn’t gone
My trust remains true
I remain ever true
But this one-way love
But this one-way love
Ya, I think I outgrew
Ya, I think I outgrew
All I want is to climb the mountain of a higher kind
Meditate the wisdom of the enlightened mind
I
give her the stare
Well at least it’s a start
It doesn’t seem fair
That this could keep us apart
They say love is a two way street
It’s more than just a wedding ring
Love is a two way street
You gotta give everything
Love is a two way street
You gotta know it to make ends meet
and turn around
You turn around
She’ll turn around
Face to face on the final beat.

Heaven
on Earth
What did you say?
Did you whisper in my ear
Could I the one
To take you away
To this simple world my precious please won’t you dance?
Holding your hand
Swaying through the breezes
Under the moon
That look in your eye
As you wrap your arms around me here in
Heaven, Heaven
Take me to this place I know
Where everything is ultra slow
And all I know is I am yours
and you, you are my girl
Lost in a dream
A dream that you and I can find a way
A way to the heart
And to move beyond
The sufferings of our days
Look at us now
Laughing through the breezes under the moon
The touch of your smile
And everything we need is here in
Heaven, Heaven
Now I know why you love me
You take me for just who I am
Nothing below or above me
And through it all we understand
That there towards the end
When all around you hear the voice of pain
Then you look
So deep within the eyes of a shining child
Well there you are
Once again in heaven
Heaven, Heaven
Take me to this place I know
Where everything is ultra slow
And all I know is I am yours
and you, you are my girl
Heaven, Heaven, Heaven, Heaven

Beauty
in Truth
Why
do we believe
There are no simple answers to our questions
Look around and you’ll see
In the stillness your reflection shines so clear
We walk this path
Together here right now
And not before or after
So follow me outside
To face the sweet warm breath of the coming sunrise
Blow away your pride, feast your eyes upon the stars where
we began
Where we began
Will we ever understand
Just why we began
Pull down the walls of conviction
Be free from the fear that’s in place
Either take life’s embrace
Or let go
The moment of truth has it come to us?
Is this the wisdom we crave?
Will the secrets of youth they enlighten us?
From the cradle to the grave
How can we survive in a world that seem so cold
Or am I deceived and we’re really not that small afterall
So where do we belong?
Wolf into dog
Weed into grain
What do you suppose nature herself could do
Given billions of years
The moment of truth has it come to us?
Is this the wisdom we crave?
May the secrets of youth they enlighten us
From the cradle to the grave
